Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be based in the UK or Eire in order to enter?

Each team must include at least one architect who is registered in the UK or Eire, with the ARB or RIAI respectively. However, the rest of your team can be based anywhere in the world.

I didn’t register; can I still enter this year?

Unfortunately, registration is essential for all teams so you are unable to enter this year. However, you can sign up to our newsletter to be notified when registrations open for next year.

Why can’t I enter work that’s been paid for?

The Davidson Prize exists to promote excellence in storytelling and collaboration across disciplines. We don’t accept paid-for work in order to level the playing field between large architectural studios and small. This is also why we award an honorarium of £5,000 to three shortlisted teams develop their design ideas.

I registered for this year but I haven’t received submission details yet.

Competitors will be issued the details for sending their submission by early January 2023. If you have not received this by the end of January please contact: hello@thedavidsonprize.com.
